Adur Open Doubles

28 teams headed to the West Sussex border on a bright, sunny and warm day to contest the Adur Open Doubles.

As well as local and club members and players from clubs within the region, a few players made the trip from Kent, London and Wales.

The morning saw leagues of 4 teams followed by the usual knockouts of Gold, Silver and Bronze in the afternoon including consolages.

There was a number of closely fought matches during the day. As well as some big match ups – notably the River Hamble club facing each other throughout the Gold knockouts.

The early favourites were River Hamble and England players, Callum Lombard & David Plumhoff, and the duo proved their credentials, comprehensively winning the Final 13-1 against two of Kent’s best players, Dean Ashby & Aston Monk – who themselves had a fantastic run to the Final.
