New Petanque England membership for club-level players
At the Petanque England AGM in December, members voted to introduce a new membership type aimed at club-level petanque players who do not need a licence as they do not play in any regional or national competitions.
I’m pleased to tell you that this has now been implemented by the Petanque England board. It is called ‘Club Player’ membership and is available for just £10 in 2023.
Of the £10 membership fee, £6 goes directly to SCPA to be used for promotion and support of grass-roots petanque in our region. It will be ‘ring-fenced’ for this purpose
This is a great way to join to SCPA and Petanque England to support the ongoing development of our sport, even if you do not enter ‘licensed’ competitions.
I hope that current PE members will encourage other players to consider joining our National Governing Body to become part of the wider petanque community in England.
New members can find out more and register online here: https://www.petanque-england.uk/join-us-2023/
If you need any help or advise please contact our SCPA Membership Secretary Carrie Litchfield.
Existing members should note that the Club Player membership is aimed at attracting new members to Petanque England and is not an alternative for current members who play in SCPA Leagues, Summer/Winter Doubles, or Regional or National competitions. All of these still require a full Competitor membership, which includes a playing licence. If someone registers as a Club Player now but later decides they need a licence, they will be able to upgrade to Competitor membership at any time.
I look forward to welcoming new members to Southern Counties Petanque.
