Some last-minute entries brought the total number up to an ideal 16 teams for Fareham Petanque Club’s annual Open Doubles on a warm and sunny Saturday. There was had a good mix of people from different clubs as well as a good turn-out from Fareham members. Four leagues of four were played in the morning with no need for byes, and determining the split of eight teams in the Main competition and eight in Plate for the afternoon knockouts.
Top honours went to visitors Lee and Angie Jameson, who beat Adrian and Myra from Chilterns region in the final. All other prizes went to teams with Fareham members, with Sammy (Beacon View) and Hassi taking the Main Consolage, Sue and Julie winning the Plate and Tim and Daena taking the Plate Consolage.
Many thanks to Fareham club, especially to Lois for providing lunch, cakes and refreshments, and to Chris for organising the day.
