A recent idea has been raised to Tom Wilson, the Vice President of Petanque England and one of our very own players here in the Southern Region.
The President of petanque in Ukraine has contacted Tom, explaining that soldiers have been playing petanque and it appears to be helping with their PTSD, however they say that they don’t have enough boules. The idea is that as a community, if we could donate any unused boule, of any description (leisure etc) then they would be extremely grateful!
Pétanque is more than just a game; it’s a social activity that brings people together, encourages friendly competition, and can provide a much-needed distraction from the stresses of daily life. In Ukraine, where communities have been deeply affected by the ongoing conflict, providing a means to unwind and reconnect is invaluable.
