Coronavirus update – 13 May 2020

All SCPA Regional petanque activities remain suspended. However, the latest UK Government rules and advice now provide the opportunity for some people to start playing Petanque again, in a limited and responsible manner. Petanque England has provided a guidance document outlining their recommendations for playing in the current situation.

Please contact your individual club before returning to the terrains to play, as there may be additional restrictions or conditions specific to your club. The current restrictions mean that you must not play doubles or triples games except where all participants belong to the same household.

SCPA Executive Committee is meeting this week via video-conference to discuss our approach to any activities that might be able to resume later this year and we will update this page again soon.

Stay safe.

Southern Counties Pétanque Association is one of sixteen regions of Pétanque England, devoted to promoting the sport of Pétanque. Also known as “French Boules”, the game has an enthusiastic following in the UK where it is truly a family sport, played by people of all ages and equally enjoyed by both men and women.

If you are new to Petanque and want to know more, you can learn more about the game of Petanque or find a Petanque Club in your area. Everyone is welcome!
